First Reconciliation

Children make their First Reconciliation prior to being prepared for and receiving First Holy Communion. Reconciliation preparation begins in the fall and requires four classes in addition to regular religious education. This is typically done in the second grade, but along with First Communion, may be delayed with the discretion of the parents and pastoral staff.

First Communion

Children who have completed First Reconciliation preparation and have completed two years of religious education or attend a Catholic school are eligible for their First Communion. First Communion preparation is a two-year process, which typically begins with first-grade religious education class and continues on to the second grade class. Preparation for this Sacrament also requires four additional classes in the Spring.
